So for some reason I ended up taking a long break for blogging! I got busy with work and the last few months seem to have flown by! Despite all the work I still made sure there was plenty of knitting time and I actually have a lot to share, so I will try and be much more diligent from now on.

I thought I would start by sharing this jumper I cast off a few weeks ago! I am so happy with it! Months ago a bought 10 balls of Knitpicks Andean Treasure Yarn in the Coriander colourway when they were having a sale. I’d never used it before so was a bit on the fence about the quality and colour (I’d wanted the lighter grey but they were out of stock!), but baby alpaca is one of my favourite fibres, and it did not disappoint! This yarn is sooooo soft and cosy! It knits up with a gorgeous halo typical of alpaca and the colour is beautifully heathered. I wanted to make something I could wear all winter so I decided to set about designing a simple, comfortable pattern that I could throw on with jeans but could also be layered over skirts and dresses.

I ended up with this simple raglan sleeve jumper that sits just below the hip, with a stripped back stag head cable traveling up the centre. As soon as I sewed all the ends in I put it on and have barely taken it off since! I haven’t even blocked it yet!

I’m now itching to cast on another winter knit, I’m in need of a big cosy cardigan, but I have lots of other projects on needles already so I need to finish a few first. Still, I should probably do some planning and wool shopping in the mean time, just incase I finish the other projects sooner than I thought!
