SEE IT ON RAVELRY

Say hello to the Tangled Cowl, a pattern inspired by the desire to simplify steeking for beginners! My lovely friend Rachel from Tangled Yarn inspired this pattern when she asked me to write an article for her blog to make steeking more accessible to those new to the technique. As I researched for the post, I noticed a lack of quick and easy steeking projects for beginners, so I decided to fill that gap with the Tangled Cowl!

This cowl starts with the colourwork, which, thanks to the steek, transforms into a flat piece. Afterward, stitches are picked up around the edges, and a half-twisted rib is worked in the round. With tidy corner increases, it results in a neat and cosy collar-like accessory that pairs perfectly with sweaters and coats as we transition into autumn. Think of it as a versatile cowl-cosy collar! You can choose to add buttonholes for secure closure, or simply fasten it with your favourite shawl pin or brooch. Get ready to learn new skills and have a beautiful finished object in no time!
